About Me

I’m a Muslim, Arab male in my late twenties who grew up and studied in the UK. I’m straight, and suspect I may have a form of ADHD.
I have worked with and continue to work with clients from all backgrounds, genders, identities and spiritual beliefs.
I have worked across the charity sector, NHS mental health services, and private organisations.
My personal experiences—such as navigating a career change, grieving the loss of family abroad, and facing racism—inform my understanding of the complex realities many people carry.
My approach to therapy is person-centred and culturally sensitive. I aim to offer a space that is warm, accepting, and collaborative. I’m particularly interested in supporting clients exploring identity, life transitions, neurodivergence and spirituality.
I am fluent in English and can comfortably converse in Arabic, and currently, I offer sessions online for anyone aged 16 and over.

I share this background so you can make an informed decision about whether I am the right therapist for you.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Psychology (University College London)

  • Post-Graduate Certificate in Counselling (Salford University)

  • Post-Graduate Diploma in Person-Centred/Experiential Counselling (Liverpool John Moores University) - Currently awaiting Graduation.

My Values and Beliefs

Inspired by my personal reflections and my work with clients, I have developed a core set of values that I apply to my work and my personal life:

  • The heart, mind and soul are interconnected and each are part of the counselling process.

  • Open communication and collaboration without judgement makes life easier.

  • Respecting one another is key, no matter the differences.

  • Individuals are affected by their families, communities and wider society. It is important to consider therapy through these lenses.

My Therepeutic Approach

I've been trained in Person-Centred/Experiential Counselling. This is a therapy style that puts you at the centre of the work we do together.
Rather than being seen as the expert and directing the therapy, the counsellor offers acceptance, empathy and honesty to help you work through any negative feelings. This process supports you to change and develop in your own way and at your own pace.
You will be encouraged to bring your own issues to the session – the counselling is often led by you and not directed by myself.
Some direction can be provided as and when needed, but it will not be the focus of our sessions.
Some clients may believe that the counsellor will sort their problems out for them. A person-centred counsellor will help you explore your own issues, feelings, beliefs, behaviours and worldview - so you can become more self-aware, have greater independence and be more self-accepting.Please see - www.bacp.co.uk/about-therapy/types-of-therapy for more information on different therapeutic approaches.

What's the next step?

  1. Get in touch with me! Either via email or telephone on the Contact Me section of this website.

  2. We will organize a 15-20 minute free consultation call where I introduce myself, you talk through what brings you to counselling, ask questions and we figure out our availabilities.

  3. If we agree to move forward with our first session, I will send over a therapy contract that contains the terms of therapy and collect some information about you - such as Name, Telephone number, Address, GP and Next of Kin. This information will be collected and only be shared in case of emergencies.

  4. We have our first session! The first 10 minutes will be spent going over the contract again and double checking there aren't any problems with it, but the remaining 50 minutes will be therapeutic. The first session will be a reduced fee of £30 so you can trial whether we're a good fit together.

FAQs

Where are the appointments held?
Appointments are held via Google Meet - I will send the link prior to the session.

Is everything we discuss confidential?
Everything we talk about is confidential and kept between myself and the client. There are a few exceptions to these:
Risk to Self: e.g, Serious Self-Harming, Plans to Commit Suicide
Risk to Others: e.g, You disclose that you have hurt someone or you know of anyone being hurt (abuse, violence, theft etc.)
If you do disclose any of these, I have the right and responsibility to break confidentiality in order to protect you or other members of the public. This process could include discussions with medical professionals, or a police report, for example.I will aim to discuss my concerns with you first before breaking confidentiality, but this may not always be possible.Therapists are required to have regular supervision. My work continues to be supervised to ensure that it is safe, ethical and effective for clients. Aspects of our therapeutic work may be discussed during these sessions, but names and other identifiable details are removed. My supervisor is bound by the same confidentiality rules as myself.

How many sessions will we have?
The number of we have is dependant on the client. Some people prefer less, others prefer more and financial means is always a factor to consider. We will discuss how your progress is going every few sessions to ensure your needs are being met.

How do we end therapy together?
Just talk to me about it! The conversation of ending can sometimes feel awkward or strange, but I would never want anyone to continue working with me if they feel that they are ready to move on.

What happens if I need to change or cancel an appointment?
To change or cancel an appointment, please give at least 48 hours notice. If a session is cancelled after this notice time, half the session fee will be charged.

How can I pay for my sessions?
You can pay via bank transfer, or via an online payment method. I will provide you with payment details upon beginning therapy sessions.
